This novel is set against the background of an actual historical event. This is not quite a novel. It's the first and complete true story of the John Kennedy affair. The facts quoted in the text are all authentic. The characters are entirely real. Some of the events exposed could not be proved at the moment. People ask me why I’ve waited so long to tell what really happened. And there are a number of reasons: moral, conceptual, professional, corporative. This is not a simple story to tell. But enough time has passed. Newspapers, magazines, radio, television stations across the world have spoken about one of the most elaborate, shocking cover-ups of the XX century.
It is my turn to set the facts straight.
Before I begin to unravel this explosive story, it is essential that I establish my own credibility.
I have been a professional spy for the past forty years. I was a high-ranking officer in one of the most tenebrous and horrendous services. My job was related to the United States, but I have worked against them, as incredible as it may seem to you.
No work of fiction has ever been written by my hand. And this one is to be my first and quite possible my last report meant to appear not only for a very restricted set of professional eyes…
Most people who lived in the US in the early sixties and are still alive have a keen recollection of where they were and what they were doing on November 22, 1963, the day the President Kennedy «died». Well, although not an avid Kennedy fan, I remember my shocking feelings when I heard that he had been «killed», becoming oddly intrigued.
From the beginning the «Kennedy affair» generated great interest among all sorts of people, starting from the government agencies and ending with movie people. Among those interested, were my employers.
Unlike hundreds of millions of people, I could get enough information about the assassination attempt and all the developments related to it for the last forty years.
But I have never become obsessed with the story. It used to be my job, to deal with John Kennedy (I’d rather say with cover-up, of course). It was never my intention to write a book, a novel or an open report about it.
I have no choice now.
This book would be a combination of well-known facts, such as true exposures or mythology brought to life by those interested in it, and my own experience. But time I recur to the mythology, I’ll advise the reader that I’m not sure about the reality of those facts, I mention.
Would I be in great danger after the book is presented to the public? Well, the answer will be a simple one: Not at all. I’m finished and I’ll be dead in about two month from now.
